A cute coffee gimmick popping up in various places is this so called “Cloud Coffee”. A little stand next to your coffee holds a small cotton candy cloud just above your freshly made coffee of choice. Heat from your coffee rises and makes the fluffy cotton candy cloud suspended above slowly dissolve and rain into your coffee.
Sounds cute, and by some photos looks amazing. But other photos make the concept of cloud coffee just look like it’s going to be a huge sticky sugar mess all over the table, on the cup handle and rim, and eventually all over your hands and lips when you try to get anywhere near it. Looks like execution will be key when getting one of these. Maybe you should ask for a cumulonimbus cloud (you remember, the one that actually makes rain and storms), so that it’s super tall but skinny and only directly over your cup.
You should also check out some fluffy cotton candy (or absurdly called fairy floss in Australia) and hot chocolate creations like this one made from decadent 80% dark chocolate in Melbourne.
