9 Coffee Table Styles To Make Your Living Room Really Amazing

Everyone needs a coffee table for eating dinner watching a movie to or put your feet up when you’re lounging around on a lazy summer day. Here are 10 different styles to kick your living room decor up a few levels and really get your ideas going for redecorating your boring living room.

1. Petrified wood coffee table.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find something cooler than a petrified wood coffee table. Unlike other types of fossils which are typically impressions or compressions, petrified wood is a three-dimensional representation of the original organic material having completely transitioned to stone by the process of permineralization over the course of millions of years. While the prices of these tables is reflected in the fact that stone is hard to work, and each piece is 100% uniquely made by nature, this is a great option if you need a table that no one else will ever have.

2. Simple white carrara marble coffee tables.

Beautiful and simple. When you want an elegant table that is functional  carrara marble is the way to go. Like a huge blank canvas any further styling can then go in whatever direction you want. Like with the resurgence of simple metal colors like copper, chrome, or this golden brass look. You can make it your own.

3. Gorgeous teak slab “Landscape” coffee table.

No need for resin or glass additions to this beautiful slab of perfectly squared teak. And with a chrome base that reflects its surroundings the slab is super sturdy but almost looks like it’s floating.  At 3 feet square it’s sure to make a real statement in any room.

4. Leather and wood travel trunk coffee tables.

Wether leather or wood with metal accents, old travel trunks are great to repurpose as coffee tables. When using this style keep in mind the repurposed feel of the piece. These tables should still look like they can be picked up and used to run off to some unknown exotic beach at a moments notice. Like these two, where one is simply placed on the floor. And the other has a base to raise it off the floor, but the case itself sits on the base instead of having permanently attached bulky legs.

6. Repurposed pallet coffee tables.

Don’t worry about damaging these repurposed pallets, they should look beat up and used for shipping. Just adding casters to the bottom so it’s off the floor a bit is really all you need. But then you have all the flexibility in the world to make it your own. Like stacking two or three pallets to make a taller table with storage cubbies, or adding a glass top to class it up a bit and keep the exact look you want underneath.

7. Wood beam coffee table.

Simple and modern with the warmth of rustic wood. This wood beam coffee table would be at home in a cozy chalet just as much as in a modern city high rise. Really love the substantial look of this table with the 6×6 chunks of rough cut lumber.

8. Half sphere coffee table.

Like other large wood coffee tables this half sphere has a really substantial look. But unlike the other more rustic looks, the rounded underside and circular top gives it a softer, mid-century design, feel for a more elegant room style.

9. Industrial concrete block coffee table.

Last but definitely not least. Massive and permanent, these industrial style concrete coffee tables add substance and immovable structure to your living room. Even better, with a bit of diy grit, you can pretty easily make one of these your self…  probably won’t look as good as these, but that feeling of a personally hand made piece of furniture is unbeatable.
